What problems needed solving?

Alexander Pilsl, Director of Procurement at TeamViewer, joined the company with a mandate to create a modern, value-driven procurement function, delivering spend control and risk management while maintaining a keen focus and track record of compliance that had already been established.

He quickly recognized that their existing procurement processes and tech ecosystem were not up to the task of supporting the procurement transformation required for TeamViewer, especially in the changing economic and regulatory environment. Built on the backbone of Microsoft Dynamics, the processes were highly manual and relied on multiple disconnected platforms like email, Microsoft Teams, Jira, and FreshService. This resulted in little visibility for the stakeholders involved and the procurement function being unable to drive meaningful value for the business.

The administrative burden of manually shepherding requests, and mental load of deciding which steps were required, has been removed.

Employees also benefit from a visual representation of the workflow their request will take once submitted, and are now able to collaborate in the same system as key process stakeholders.
